Board Games FAQs

Can I use it for any board game?

Yes. It works for Chess, Catan, Magic, Warhammer, backgammon, Scrabble or any tabletop game. You decide what the points mean and the app handles the pairings and standings around them.

How do players sign up for an event?

Slide the participant count to the far left in the create menu to open registration, and players enter themselves through a shared link instead of you collecting names at the door. Approve the entries, then start the first round when everyone is in.

What happens when players finish on the same score?

Swiss events break ties automatically with Buchholz, which ranks players by the strength of the opponents they faced. So two players on the same number of wins are separated by how tough their games were.

Does it work for game nights, conventions and club leagues?

Yes. The same Swiss, round robin and knockout tools run a casual game night, a weekend convention or a season-long club league. Setup takes minutes whether you have 6 players or 64.

How many rounds should a Swiss event have?

The app suggests the right number of rounds based on how many players you have, enough for the standings to settle fairly. You can override it and pick your own within the limits for that field size.
